We understand that moving into a supported care residence is a major life decision. We are here to support residents and their families from the very beginning of the journey and ensure that the transition is a comfortable, secure and informative process. Do I need an Aged Care Assessment?
No. Here at Chesterfield, we assess everyone on an individual needs and independence basis. We do however, encourage all new residents to have an up-to-date Health Care Plan.
Can I keep my family GP, allied health staff, pharmacist etc?
Absolutely! We recognise the trust you associate with such professionals and are only too happy to facilitate in getting you to your GP or accommodating them here at Chesterfield in times of need.
What are the standard fittings and fixtures in your rooms?
Each room is fitted out with the following: a wall mounted television and bedroom furniture including a bed, bedside table and tall boy. There is also a telephone connection point and antenna connection point.
Can I bring my own furniture?
Yes, of course! We encourage you to bring your special things. After all, this is your home whether it be for a short stay or a permanent one!
At Chesterfield we have an onsite maintenance manager dedicated to facilitating all structural, technological or garden focused needs you may have to ensure ultimate comfort for all our residents.
We do however, ensure all rooms are furnished and ready to live in should you wish to simply pack a suit case and move in whilst personalising over time. It’s just another way we like to simplify a sometimes overwhelming step.
Do all rooms have heating and cooling?
Yes. Each room is fitted with individual heating and cooling (reverse cycle air conditioner), to ensure personal comfort is met at all times.
Do I pay a bond?
No. We offer an all-inclusive pricing model allowing you to project all outgoings in one single fee.
Our approach is simple and straight forward. We offer two options to suit our residents and pride ourselves on no hidden costs or surprise fees. Our service fees are reviewed annually each November and you will be given written advice of any increase in fees and fourteen days notice of any change in fees. An amount equivalent to 14 days fees is payable on admission to the facility.
Do I have to declare my income to Centrelink?
Here at Chesterfield, we have a simplified process. Chesterfield is regulated by the Department of Human Services. Services provided by Chesterfield SRS are consistent with the principles and requirements of the Supported Residential Services Act 2010 (Private Proprietors). A monthly invoice is provided to you in the first week of each month, with payment due by direct debit on the 15th of each month.
